Hey! (is that how you start a blog?) If you have not already, please read the "About Me" to get an idea of how this is going to go... I want to start off by saying, this is not going to be perfect by any means and I am not the best writer so things might be all over the place, but it is who I am and how it will be 99.9% of the time on the blog, lol. This post will be about all the projects I am doing and what you can expect out of my blog, I hope you can relate to some of it! ------------------------------------ My family and I have had the dream to create the perfect homestead for us for forever! This past Summer we made the leap and moved from our house deep in the city of Charlotte, NC to a small country town with a perfect little house on 5 acres of land close to the mountains, yet not too far from the rest of civilization.

When moving from our small city yard to a new home, acreage was a priority for us. I want chickens, goats, donkeys, cows, a garden...I'll stop there cause my husband already thinks I'm crazy. A garden has been something that I have always wanted! Some may say I am ambitious because of the size garden we are starting out with as a first-timers, but I wanted to go all in. I might regret it once I see the bugs and critters but I believe it will all be worth it. So if you are new to all this too, I hope you stick around to learn and grow with me!

I am a mother of two children a girl (5) and boy (3), a couple years ago I decided to give homeschooling a try and with you know what going around it made it that much easier to say yes to the idea of it. Homeschooling has been an experience within itself, I look forward to writing about our day-to-day learning in future posts. Chickens!!! WE BOUGHT CHICKENS, I will have to introduce you to them soon :) We ordered 6 and ended up with 8, how fun is that!? We named 5 of them; Wiggles, Bertha, Cupcake, Dinosaur and MoonPie. If you ask me today who is what...I have no idea anymore. They are Barred Rocks and all look THE SAME now that their feathers have come in. Things to look for in future posts, Chickens (of course), The Garden, Homeschooling, and of course FOOD! Another thing I am currently learning how to do is, Canning. Anyways, if you have made it this far Thank you for reading and I look forward to writing more about my adventures! Catch ya later!
