Long time no see! It is typical that I would try and start a blog, just to not post for a whole year. But here I am going to make a second attempt to get this thing going. :)
A lot has happened in the past year for us, and more will happen for our family this year, so I look forward to sharing what we are up to, and I hope you will tag along and enjoy! Maybe the second time is my charm with this thing. ;p
- - For our first adventure together this year - -
I am excited to share our school room with you all, get ready for the grand tour!!! Currently it is a mess, and I did manage to pick up a bit, but 99% of the time it is a wreck. Our school area is in the basement, and since our primary heat source is our woodstove (which is in the school area), there are always woodchips, sticks, ash, dirt, and whatever else the kids dragged out on the floor. It isn't perfect, but it is ours and the kids love to hang out and do crafts and other things here...plus its the warmest room in the house during the winter!
Here are Abigail and Lincoln's desks, I'm sure you can guess which is which. They have thoroughly enjoyed setting up their spaces and making it own. Abigail spends a good portion of her day here between schoolwork and making art, we are very lucky to have this space and I love it!!
Here is a full view of the kids side of the room! The round table in the middle is our main art table, as you can see its been through it.
This is the other half of the school area! One of my main goals for the next school year is to start teaching Abigail how to play the piano. I've had some lessons in the past when I was in like middle school, I mostly know the basics and how to read music, but I feel like I know enough to teach Abigail and grow with her on this beautiful instrument! This piano was actually left for us by the previous owner, and I was elated to inherit it. P.s:: If you know of anyone who can tune a piano...let me know!
Also, that is paint on the carpet, yikes. ><
There is a little insight on what our classroom looks like, I look forward to sharing more about how our typical school day works and the curriculum we use, as well as some of our crafts!!
If you enjoyed our school room, let me know in the comments! If you took the time to check out my post Thank You, and please tell me what you would like to see from me next. P.S.s. I am trying really hard not to use emoji's...
Here is our most recent holiday craft.
Happy late St. Patty's Day!!
