This recipe is just delicious, I mean, how can you not like a cookie with M&M's?!
Feel free to cut this recipe in half, it made 24 large cookies, like 2-3 inches in diameter.
First things first, just like most cookie recipes, go ahead and take your butter out of the fridge and let it get to room temperature about 1-2 hours before you start.
I find most of my recipes on Pinterest, however, I will adjust the recipes as needed to my liking! The inspiration for these cookies were from the following link.
Below is how I did the cookies! And please ignore the fact that the back half of cookies are a little browner, I accidently left them in the oven when I was doing the laundry. lol But the first one is how the majority turned out, and the kids had eaten them all already.
Chocolate Chip M&M Cookies
Servings: 24 large cookies
Prep: 10 mins Cook Time: 9-12 mins
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups All Purpose Flour
1 tsp salt (omit if you use salted butter)
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
3/4 cup M&Ms + 1/4 cup for the tops
Instructions:
Preheat oven 350 degrees F.
Mix together the room temp. butter and sugars until creamy in a stand mixer or with a handheld beater.
Add in eggs and vanilla and mix until creamier!
Mix in the salt, baking soda, and flour and beat on low until combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips and 3/4 cup of M&Ms with a spatula.
Scoop the dough into 3 tablespoon-sized balls and place 2" apart on a baking sheet. (I think I over estimated what 3 tbs worth of dough was, cause mine are huge!) Add the extra 1/4 cup of M&Ms to the top of the dough balls.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden around the edges, make sure you save the laundry for later, so they don't overcook or burn.
Let the cookies cool for 10-15 minutes on the pan before moving to the cooling rack.
Tip: Do not over-bake, take the cookies out of the oven when the edges are golden but the middle is still slightly glossy. They will finish cooking on the pan before moving to the cooling rack!
If you try this recipe out, let me know how it goes. Do you love it?
I hope your family enjoys the easy M&M cookies just like mine did! <3
